New Date for Coffee & Conversation is May 14
Members of the Ridgewood Board of Education and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Daniel Fishbein will host residents for coffee and casual conversation on Monday, May 14 from 7-8:30 p.m. Please join them at the Education Center, 49 Cottage Place, Ridgewood. Residents are welcome to drop in and share their thoughts, questions, suggestions and concerns. 

RPS Mobile App Makes Debut

Further revision to Spring Recess is confirmed
Students will attend school on Thursday, April 12 to make up for the recent emergency weather. April 13 is also a school day, as previously announced. Click here to read Dr. Fishbein's March 26 letter.

RHS students promote safe teen driving 
"Share the Keys" is an event for parents and teens on April 19 from 6:30-8 p.m. Its goal is to reduce teen driver crash risk. Please click here for more information.

Tech Night to be rescheduled
The Tech Night series is designed to help parents and guardians deal with children's tech use. The final program will be a student panel discussion on their personal use of technology. Please look for more information to come.

2018-2019 Kindergarten registration dates are announced
Registration for incoming Kindergarten students and First Grade students new to the district will take place at each elementary school on Tuesday, February 6 and Thursday, February 8. Please click here for details.

An evening with author Kate Fagan: Dr, Matthew Murphy, superintendent of the Ramsey Public Schools, has extended an invitation to the Ridgewood community to attend their Parent Academy with Kate Fagan, author of What Made Maddy Run, on Monday, January 29 at 7 p.m. at the Ramsey High School Auditorium.  

"Ms. Fagan brings enormous credibility and I think her story will be interesting to many," wrote Dr. Murphy. "She played basketball for the University of Colorado and finished her career as one of the Big 12's top scorers and then played 2 seasons in the WNBA. Following athletics, Ms. Fagan has worked for the Philadelphia Inquirer and now is a writer for ESPN. She has appeared on "Around the Horn." She has written several books and has established herself as a sportswriter with knowledge and insight that is useful and important, especially young athletes."

Calendar update:
Due to the snow day used on January 4, Ridgewood Public Schools will be open on Friday, May 25. Please make a note!

Coffee and Conversation dates are announced

 

Members of the Ridgewood Board of Education and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Daniel Fishbein will host residents for coffee and casual conversation on three separate occasions this school year.

The first date for Coffee and Conversation is Wednesday, October 18 from 7-8:30 p.m. Future dates are March 21 and May 16, 2018.

The gatherings will take place at the Education Center, 49 Cottage Place, Ridgewood. Residents are welcome to drop in and share their thoughts, questions, suggestions and concerns with Board members and Dr. Fishbein.

Ashby, Tradition of Excellence Awards are announced at Convocation
Colleen Gieniec (Somerville, First Grade Teacher) received the Ashby Award at Convocation on September 1. Recently retired Assistant to the Superintendent Kathleen Kiedaisch was honored with the Tradition of Excellence Award. Click here to read the press release.

BFMS: Tuesday, September 12 at 7 p.m.
GWMS: Thursday, September 28 at 7 p.m.
Hawes (Gr. 3-5): Thursday, September 14 at 6:30 p.m.
Hawes (Gr. K-2): Thursday, September 14 at 8 p.m.
Orchard: Thursday, September 14 at 6:30 p.m.
RHS: Wednesday, September 13 at 7:30 p.m.
Ridge: Tuesday, September 19 at 7 p.m. (revised)
Somerville: Thursday, September 14 at 7 p.m.
Travell: Thursday, September 14 at 7 p.m.
Willard: Wednesday, September 27 at 7 p.m. (revised)
